The Sea The Southern part has hotels and restaurants along the beach. During the summer you will have to purchase an entry ticket to get into these beaches. The Northern beach of Sidna Ali is free of charge, less crowded and in many ways nicer. From Sidna Ali you can even go up north a long the coast an reach the Apollonian ruins, remains of an ancient fortress along the cost. Be aware of the intensity
of the sun during the summer. Its recommended during this period to
go to the beach during morning and after noon hours only. Water temperatures
vary between seasons. Expect warm water during summer (28 °C).
Moderate in spring and autumn (20 °C) and cold in winter (16 °C).
Near Hof Hasharon beach you will find a variety of stores to purchase
necessities for a beach visit. The Southern part has a Marina, that
provides also a variety of nautical services. Lifeguards are present
during working hours in most of the beaches. Common sports

Caveman Cafe,
see picture above, also known as Hermit House. If you hike northward
along the beach from the hotels towards the Sidna Ali Mosque, you will
encounter the bizarre residence of the Caveman (his real name is Nissim
Cachlon), carved out of the sand dunes in defiance of zoning regulations
and common sense, decorated with anything and everything he can get
his hands on. Open randomly whenever the more than slightly eccentric
owner is around and in the mood, but worth a look any time. |
