After the war of independence (1948) the Jewish Agency imported a dozen of exclusive cottages to Israel. The cottages were known as Swedish frame houses. In reality that story appeared to be a bit different. In order to house new immigrants Israel was in need of cheap housing. A deal was made with post war Germany to import a large number of wooden barracks. A part of this deal included a small number of more exclusive cottages, to be used by employees of the Jewish Agency. Indeed, the first tenant of this cottage did held a srnior position at the Jewish Agency in Israel. The " zimmer " is now available for rent.
