Getting
there
You can rent a car at the airport and return it at the Herzliya Pituach
industrial area, about 30 to 40 min walk from the cottage. Companies
like Avis, Hertz and Eldan have offices there. There is a smaller car
rental company near Hof Hasharon beach, 15 min walk from the house.
A taxi from the airport to Herzliya Pituach should cost between the
100 and 150 NIS (between 17 and 25 Euro).
There are good bus connections to and from the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange,
located several minutes walk from the cottage. Two bus lines go into
Herzliya Pituach (Egged bus 29 and Dan bus 90, see below).
There is a train station
in Herlzliya, but you will need a bus or taxi to get there.
Herzliya Pituach itself
is not too big. You can walk to most of the places, including the beaches,
food stores and restaurants. The industrial park is the only place that
requires a longer walk, around 30 to 40 minutes.

Public Transport
Note that public transport stops to operate Friday afternoon until Saturday
(Sabbath) afternoon-evening. On Saturday buses start to operate only
after the end of the Sabbath. Sheroet and bus services often do not
operate late at night.
Food stores and Restaurants
Left to the cottage, you will find at the corner of Keren Ha Yesod and
Hanassi street a food store and an Italian restaurant. If you go to
the right, towards the direction of Nof Yam you will find, a bit further
away, a slightly cheaper supermarket. Restaurants are also available
near the southern coast line. You will find also many restaurants in
the industrial area as well as some large food stores.
Bank &
ATM
There is an ATM for cash withdrawals and a Bank Leumi near Hof Hasharon
beach. There is also a bank near the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange.
Bus
There are two bus lines from different companies that you can use. Bus
29 (Egged) crosses the Hanassi street. It travels between Herzliya Pituach,
Herzliya Town, Raanana and Kfar Sava. Depending on the direction you
have in mind you will have a station close to the house or one near
the Kfar-Shmaryahu intgerchange. Bus 90 (Dan) travels to Tel Aviv. There
is a station near the Italian restaurant (Keren Ha Yesod street), just
a few minutes walk from the house.

Sheroet
These are fast and cheap cab like services that operate a long the Haifa
Tel Aviv main road. Pick them up at the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange.
They have a high frequency and bring you for several NIS to Tel Aviv
or Nathanya were you can follow-up your trip using a taxi or bus. Ask
them for operating times.
Train
You can board the Israeli train services in Herzliya. You will need
to take bus 29 or a taxi to get there. Trains run up North to Haifa
and Naharia and south to Tel Aviv. Ask the train services for more information.

Medical services
There
is a large private
medical center near Hof Hasharon beach in Herzliya Pituach, Tel.
nr. 09-9592555, 09-9592444). You will find also a pharmacy there.
Another pharmacy (Kuphat Holim) is located in the Nof Yam area, North
from the cottage.
You will find large public Hospitals in Tel Aviv (Ichilov
Sourasky, Tel. 03-697 4444) and Kfar Sava (Meir
Tel. 09-7472555).
Mobile phone
If your phone can accept new SIM cards, you can consider using
a local prepaid card from one of the Israeli Telcos. Orange has support
for GSM prepaid phones. The service is called Bigtalk.

Van Friesland Garden
Just a few minutes walk (South) on Hanassi street you will
find the Van Friesland park. Its a relatively large park with playgrounds
for children.
